Site accessibility
The National Forum on the Digitalization of Justice is committed to ensuring access to its digital content for all users, including people with disabilities, in compliance with current European and Italian regulations.
Compliance statement
This website is built in compliance with the technical requirements set out in Italian Law no. 4 of 9 January 2004 (Stanca Law) and Legislative Decree no. 106 of 10 August 2018, implementing EU Directive 2016/2102 on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies.
This statement is based on a self-assessment conducted by the Forum's technical team. We are committed to reviewing it annually and progressively updating non-compliant content, according to the priorities indicated in the known limitations section.
- Law no. 4 of 9 January 2004 — Stanca Law
- Legislative Decree no. 106 of 10 August 2018 — EU Directive implementation
- EU Directive 2016/2102 on the accessibility of public sector websites
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 — level AA
What we have done for accessibility
Below are the main technical and organisational measures adopted in the design of the website to ensure usability for as many users as possible.
Keyboard navigation
All features can be used exclusively via keyboard, without requiring the use of a mouse. The tab order is logical and consistent with the visual structure of the page.
Colour contrast
The contrast ratio between text and background complies with WCAG 2.1 level AA (at least 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text), to ensure readability even with low vision.
Alternative texts for images
All meaningful images have descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are marked with an empty alt attribute and ignored by screen readers.
Semantic HTML structure
The markup correctly uses hierarchical headings, ARIA landmarks, lists and tables with headers. This facilitates navigation with screen readers and other assistive tools.
Text resizing
Content remains readable and usable even at 200% zoom, without loss of functionality or visual element overlap.
Visible focus and indicators
All interactive elements display a visible and distinguishable focus indicator, allowing keyboard users to always identify the active element on the page.
Content not yet compliant
Some areas of the website still have limitations with respect to WCAG 2.1 level AA requirements. The identified issues, their causes and the planned resolution timelines are listed below.
Attached PDF documents (previous editions)
The PDFs of conference proceedings from the 2022 and 2023 editions were not produced with accessibility criteria: they lack semantic tags, alternative text for images and navigation bookmarks. Documents from subsequent editions are produced in accessible format. Remediation of historical PDFs is planned by October 2026.
Archive videos (2022–2023 editions)
Videos recorded during the 2022 and 2023 edition sessions do not have synchronised subtitles or text transcripts. Subtitle integration is being planned with the external provider and will be completed by Q3 2026.
Interactive map for the venue
The interactive map showing the Forum venue uses a third-party component that is not fully accessible to screen readers. A text alternative is available with the full address, access directions and venue contact details.
